Is GRP piping API-compliant for oil and gas use?+
Yes. Our GRP piping is manufactured to API 15LR (fiberglass line pipe) and ISO 14692 standards, specifically developed for oil and gas applications. We provide full material certificates, hydrostatic test reports, and third-party inspection documentation on request.
Can GRP solve Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) problems?+
Absolutely. CUI is the #1 cause of carbon steel pipeline failures in refineries. GRP is completely immune to CUI because it cannot corrode regardless of moisture ingress under insulation. Replacing steel with GRP in insulated service eliminates CUI risk entirely for 50+ years.
Is GRP safe for H₂S and sour service applications?+
Yes. Vinyl ester resin GRP provides excellent resistance to H₂S, which causes Sulfide Stress Corrosion Cracking (SSC) in steel. Unlike carbon steel and some grades of stainless, GRP is immune to SSC — making it ideal for sour service piping in upstream and midstream applications.
Are your GRP products ATEX certified for use in explosive zones?+
Yes. Our GRP gratings, handrails, piping, and structural products are non-conductive and non-sparking — certified for use in ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive atmospheres. This makes them mandatory where steel sparking presents ignition risk in gas plants and offshore topsides.
What fire performance standards do your GRP products meet?+
We offer fire-retardant GRP grades meeting ASTM E84 (flame spread index ≤25), UL 94 V-0, and IEC 61386 for cable protection. Phenolic resin systems are available for the most demanding fire performance requirements on offshore topsides and process platforms.
How long does a custom GRP oil & gas project take to deliver?+
Standard GRP piping systems: 3–6 weeks. Custom pressure vessels and large storage tanks: 8–14 weeks. Full refinery piping packages with engineering: 12–20 weeks. We provide detailed engineering schedules at quotation stage and can fast-track for shutdown/turnaround projects.
